Saturday 27th June ~ Wandering Women Solstice Walk ~ The Long Man

Come ye, Come ye !

If gallivanting through the magical countryside of Sussex is your thing come join us!

For the next Wandering women, we're celebrating the summer Solstice with a merry pilgrimage to visit our old pal, The Long Man of Wilmington.

Don your finest solstice regalia, dust off ya bells and whistles, raid the garden to perk up that raggy old mayday garlands you probably shoulda binned weeks ago... Summon forth a flagon of accidentally-unbelievably potent elderflower home brew, ram that bindle full of cheese sandwiches, dust off your most unhinged solstice outfit and come for a ramble around The Longest Man in all the land (that’s what he said anyway...)

Walk info:

Location: Berwick circular (Train/Bus Accessible)

Date/Time: Saturday 27th June @10:30am

Distance: 15km

We'll meet in Berwick where we’ll meander our way to the Long man, paying our respects to Wilmingtons oldest resident... The1,600 year old Wilmington Yew Tree, along the way. Before heading for a celebratory Solstice picnic and toast underneath the Long Man. After this we'll ramble towards Alfriston, before heading back towards Berwick to visit the Bloomsbury group murals in the church of St Michael & All Angels and hop back on the train home.

The route has a few hills but we'll walk at a sociable pace and stop for breaks along the way.
